When a number matters more than a slider
Job portals, visa applications, school platforms, marketplace listings and contact forms all have one thing in common: a hard upload limit, usually somewhere between 100 KB and 2 MB. A normal compressor gives you a quality slider and leaves the guesswork to you. This tool takes the limit as input and finds the best quality that fits under it.
How it gets there
First the image is scaled down to the longest side you allow. Then the tool searches for the highest JPG or WebP quality that keeps the file under your target. If even the lowest sensible quality is too big, it reduces the dimensions step by step until the file fits. You see the final size, dimensions and quality for every picture, and the badge tells you at a glance whether the limit was met.
Good defaults
For portals and forms, 200 KB at 1920 pixels is plenty for a sharp photo. Passport style pictures are often required under 100 KB; set the longest side to 800 pixels. If you need the file in a specific pixel size as well, run it through the resizer first.
