Which format should I choose?
WebP gives the smallest files for the web and is supported by every modern browser. JPG is the safe choice for photos that need maximum compatibility. PNG is best when you need sharp edges or transparency, for example logos and screenshots.
How much quality can I lose?
A quality level between 70 and 80 is the sweet spot for photos. The difference is almost invisible, while file sizes often drop by half or more. For graphics with text, stay above 85.
